Anna Bligh, like every territory, state and the federal Labor leader (PM Kevin Rudd) have spent most of their "working" life feeding at the taxpayer-funded-trough in some form, or have lived high-on-the-hog as union officials, courtesy of silly sheep-like union members.
As Anna Bligh has spent most of her life firmly attached to the taxpayer-funded "nipple" it is therefore not surprising, that like her predecessor Peter Beattie, (a former union boss) she has no experience in the REAL world.
Therefore, given Queensland's disastrously precarious financial position, it is hardly"rocket-science" that these Labor people, with no REAL WORLD experience, who could not run a pie-cart at the football and turn a profit, are wrecking that state!
I of course agree with the privatisations. However it should have been done years ago. Government's should never run businesses.
The size and cost of the Queensland Government, like all state and territory Labor governments is the root cause of Bligh's problems.
Big, and forever-expanding, wealth-destroying, taxation-consuming, incentive-destroying, government bureaucracies are Australia's biggest problem by far. Sadly, less than 40% of Australians realise that:
More government is not the answer. More and bigger government is in fact the problem. It will never be a solution.
Remember, on average, every current public servant costs the taxpayer at least $100,000 per annum! So , therefore, an additional 10 public servants cost a MILLION Dollars every year .... and so on.... with an extra 1000 costing a whopping $100 MILLION per annum.... and an extra 10,000 adding a BILLION DOLLARS to the state or territory's annual wages bill.
No wonder there is little money at the "coal face" in Australia. Unnecessary, taxation consuming, bloated bureaucracies chewing the nations wealth at an ever-increasing pace!

Yes, Ireland has exactly the same problem. The political party that is in power, is full of friends cousins and neighbours, to cushion and protect those in power. All makes up a big government. WE are also screaming for small.
